District Irrigation Information
Non-Potable Watering Schedule
The East Fossil Creek Metro District is currently on a 2 day per week watering schedule. For more information, please see the image below. The watering season typically runs from mid-April through mid-October.
As of 8/10/26, the District has been notified that we are no longer receiving water deliveries Box Elder Ditch Company. As discussed in our previous communication, the District has been closely monitoring drought conditions and has explored numerous alternatives to secure additional water supplies, including coordinating with the Box Elder Ditch Company, investigating Colorado-Big Thompson (CBT) water rentals, contacting the Town of Windsor, and evaluating hydrant meter options. Unfortunately, no reliable or financially feasible alternative water source is currently available.
As of 8/10/26, with the 2 day per week watering schedule, the rentention pond has about 2 weeks worth of water. Residents should prepare to connect their irrigation systems to their residential water service to maintain watering of lawns and landscaping once the pond supply is exhausted. We strongly encourage homeowners to prioritize the watering of trees and established landscaping.
The District will continue monitoring conditions and pursuing any opportunities for additional water supplies. If significant rainfall occurs and river conditions improve, allowing water deliveries to resume, we will promptly notify residents. Likewise, if the pond supply is depleted and irrigation water is no longer available, we will provide an update to the community as soon as possible.
